The Trail's Gone Cold

Instructions for completing the quest

Follow these steps to successfully complete the quest:

1. Go to the barn

   • After taking the quest, go straight to the old wooden barn at the coordinates: /way 85.93, 34.01 (marked with a red cross on the map).

2. Find the Tattered Note

   • Inside the barn, find the Tattered Note and take the Torn Diary, Page 4 from it, which will give you +20% to the quest progress.

3. Light the Torch of Pyrreth

   • Exit the barn and light the Torch of Pyrreth. This action will help you find the next Tattered Note at coordinates: /way 85.89, 33.92, where the Torn Diary, Page 7 is located.

4. Find the next page of the diary

   • Go to coordinates: /way 88.12, 34.60, where you will find the Torn Diary, Page 6.

5. Summon Rexxar

   • In Sholazar Basin at coordinates: /way 65.04, 60.15, use Spirit's Whistle. Rexxar will appear and the quest progress will increase to 40%. Two new markers will appear on the map - go to each of them.

6. Talk to Purser Boulian

   • Fly to the village at coordinates: /way 26.76, 59.23 and talk to Purser Boulian.

7. Look at the mountain through the telescope pipe

   • Go to the top of the mountain at coordinates: /way 49.72, 36.02 and look through the Mounted Spyglass (the progress of the task will increase to 60%).

8. Find the corpse of Scrapes

   • Go to the Icecrown location at coordinates: /way 16.00, 58.83, there you will find Scrapes' corpse. Click on it to make the progress of the quest become 80%.

9. Complete the conversation with Rexxar

   • Summon Rexxar with Spirit's Whistle and talk to him, which will complete the quest​​​​​​​ (100% progress​​​​​​​).

10. Turn in the quest

• Return to Tanaris and turn in the completed quest.
